Since March 2024, we’ve completed Phase 1 of our fundraising plan and purchased 35 College Street on July 30th. Thank you to everyone who believed in this project from the start!

As a part of Phase 1, we raised $390,000 and partnered with the Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF) to secure the building purchase. For the next 6-9 months we are working hard to raise funds to repay our loan to the VCLF and secure funding for renovations.

Phase 2a

Goal: $462,000 - Vermont Community Loan Fund 2-year interest-only loan amount.

We are so grateful to the Vermont Community Loan Fund for believing in this community project and supporting us with this opportunity to own a critical asset in Montpelier. Owning this space grants our organization security and the ability to build a profitable model that will outlast us all. Phase 2b

Goal: $3.4-$4 million - Renovation Cost

We have partnered with Connor Contracting, Freeman French Freeman, and a number of incredible construction professionals to design a space that is accessible to all, efficient, and resourced to support the needs of our community. This project is an investment in our social infrastructure in Central Vermont. As the Vermont College of Fine Arts moves out of Montpelier, these historic, flood-resistant buildings are critical to retain for community use. Help us reinvigorate this site with life and joy for our whole community of residents and visitors to enjoy!
