Seeking Performers - all ages encouraged to audition

Audition by January 31 (see below)

Since this experience has only a limited amount of rehearsals, it is important that participants have no previous conflicts and can attend all meetings. Of course, absences for illness and unexpected circumstances will be permitted. 

Rehearsal Dates *at the Hub*

Thursday, Feb 6th, Thursday, Feb 13th 6-9 and Dress Rehearsal Friday, March 7th 6-9pm

Performance: March 8th at 8pm (Performers are expected to arrive by 7:30pm)

About:

Performers in this showcase will perform a musical theater solo or duet in our March 8th performance. Performers and creative team will work together to select a song for the performance to create an overall showcase event that is well balanced and exciting for the audience. 

How do I audition?

Please submit a video audition to kianna@mpa-hub.org no later than January 31st or email to schedule an in person audition slot. For the video audition, please prepare at least 36 bars of a musical theater song that showcases your voice. Please sing with an instrumental track or live accompaniment in the background. 

What will the rehearsal process look like?

On our first rehearsal we will examine our song selections and start the rehearsal process. In between rehearsals, performers are required to rehearse their pieces. During rehearsals 2 & 3, performers will work with Kianna on staging and song interpretation and Michael on vocal technique and more song interpretation. Performers will have the opportunity to support their fellow performers by providing feedback to rehearsal sessions. In addition, we will work on one group song to perform together on March 8th. This will include ensemble and harmony work, movement, and be an all around blast!
